Death Takes a Holiday

  1. Your header pretty much nails it. When even death takes a holiday, it’s the peak of the season.

  2. I just like the little deathlings splashing in the water…

  3. I didn’t see them as death and deathlings until I read the above comments. Nowadays, with people thoroughly cautioned about the dangers of sun exposure, it’s not unusual to see people on the beach completely covered like that. Which always makes me wonder why they heck they’re on the beach anyway.

It was funny before I saw the scythe.

So if Death is on vacation, why did he bring his “equipment?” Isn’t that work? Is he a workaholic like the people who bring their laptops, cell phones and blackberrys. I always wonder why they’re there too.

  4. Death is on holiday — this is the one and only time I would try parasailing.

  5. I think the reason Death brought his scythe with him is that otherwise — even with the skeleton feet — he might look like Obi Wan Kenobi, a druid, or Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy (who, like Death, is partial to hoodies).

  6. Even the deathlings have scythes (on the beach on towel). Perhaps “deaths” are required to be equipped at all times, to perform their appointed duties, just in case.

In which case, parasailing would be a definite no go in my book.

Also makes me wonder if dad/mom death only half scythes people so deathlings can finish them off (kinda like a cat with a mouse). For the practice you understand…

  7. Seeing the little deathlings splashing in the water immediately made me wonder, “Who had sex with Death?”

  8. Some Goth chick, I imagine.
