Five Easy Pizzas

Filed under: Bill Bickel, Broom Hilda, CIDU, comic strips, comics, food, humor, pizza — Cidu Bill @ 12:01 am

Jim Moore: “I don’t get this. She ordered the toppings without the pizza. OK, but then she eats the pizza…what’s the joke? Did she trick the guy into offering her a pizza? That’s not funny. Am I missing something?”

  1. Literally “hold the pizza”. She wants to have him hold the pizza so she can do what she’s doing in the last panel.

Variation on “I want you to hold ’em between your KNEES” a la Jack, I suppose.

  2. Dave hit the nail on the head. But I’m mesmerized by the huge timepiece on his right wrist. Or is is a retractable measuring tape?

  3. This is Broom Hilda we’re talking about, which hasn’t been funny since well forever…

  4. Have I seen the movie where Jack says “I want you to hold ‘em between your KNEES”? It seems familiar but I never saw “Five Easy Pieces”. Which makes me wonder how Bill knew Dave was going to bring up Jack when he wrote the header “Five Easy Pizzas”.

  5. Just wanna say — that picture of Broom Hilda in panel 3 could be photoshopped into something really perverse.

  6. Well, I would accept Dave’s explanation, but in panel two, the chef is confused as how to serve the toppings WITHOUT the pizza, and she says she’ll show him how. But then she eats the whole pizza.

  7. “But, then she eats the whole pizza”, while he is “holding” the pizza.

As was said, the strip hasn’t been funny for a long time …

  8. he/she is still “holding the pizza”. Not funny. better than most of mine, though, so I can’t comment.
