Snip

Maybe it’s just me — and God knows when I say that it very often is — but I think this would have worked a lot better if they guy had been some scraggly teenager. As it’s drawn, my first thought was “Hopefully Piraro isn’t planning on using this woman again, because she’s ten seconds away from being a victim of urban violence.”

And a note for those of you who don’t have (or aren’t) kids: Just because somebody’s wearing headphones doesn’t necessarily mean the music won’t be audible to anybody nearby (though in this guy’s defense, at least he was wearing headphones)

  1. Why is the music still emanating from the end of the broken cable?

  2. I would guess artistic license on Piraro’s part; otherwise, it would look as if the guy were holding a can of Coke with a straw sticking out of it (or, given that this is Bizarro, we might think he was holding a lit firecracker)

  3. All I can say is God Bless Her for putting into practice actions I can only dream of.

  4. Oh yeah, I take a train to work each morning and half the time there’s someone on there listening to headpones cranked up so loud they can be heard clearly from the other end of the car.

Though I’d love to try the scissors trick, I don’t see it ending well.

Don’t get me started about the folks who think the morning commute is the ideal time to try out every single ringer their phone offers… 4 or 5 times….

  5. I think that’s part of the gag. You’d expect her to do that to some teenager, but you’d never expect her to do that to a large, pretty mean looking black man.
