  1. Must be a toy BMW he’s playing with.

  2. My newspaper just added F-minus, and I’m concerned that everyone of them will wind up as CIDU. It might be more effective to assume that F-minus doesn’t make sense, and only post the ones that do.

  3. I like F-Minus, more for facial expressions (mostly eyebrows) than content, and it’s a hell of a lot better than Brevity.

As for this strip, ya, I assume his toy car is some kind of Volkswagon. Evidently the kid is some kind of prodigy who can read the German copyright on the toy.

  4. I think it has to do with German seemingly made up of ran-together words that don’t make sense to the English speaker. The Mom is too stoopid to know that these are just made up baby talk. So she proudly assumes her child is a prodigy who’s learning German all by himself.

  5. I agree with David (2). It’s not supposed to make any sense. I like that aspect of F-Minus, and this is a good one.

  6. This is funny. It’s a commentary on our school system not teaching English effectively when the Germans have to learn English from grade school. Bravo!

  7. How can a toddler’s speech be a commentary on our school system?

  8. Maybe she’s been showing him Baby Einstein DVDs. (They’re multilingual, in case you didn’t know.)

  9. No one made the connection with foul language? He says “@#$%” but we don’t know where he picked it up. BTW, I love F-Minus almost as much as Zippy 🙂
