  1. Yeah, I think normally bad guys say that after a victim has attempted to escape capture, but I think in this case just the act of having a “bright idea” is causing them consternation.

  2. This joke is so dimly layered in smoke and fog… that is, the comic itself is, leading me to believe this is one of those jokes where somebody gets a bright idea in order to illuminate their surroundings or show people where they are. Which is… well, kinda an old joke.

  4. How do they know he’s getting ideas? Why, they can see the light, of course.

    By the way, why bother asking the girlfriend to pass the word? He’s sitting right there for goodness sake. Just threaten him directly.

  5. You know, I think this joke was funny the first time I saw it played out in a cartoon. But, then, Carl Barks could make any joke funny…
