  1. I’m assuming it’s because she wrote the script from her perspective as a woman, and feels that Richard, whoever he is, has totally changed it to a masculine perspective. So she wants to know why Richard had her write it in the first place, since she’s a woman, but she’s being really, really sarcastic.

  2. I agree with Katheryn – clearly the new script contains ‘exploding helicopters’ and the like to appeal to the male audience.

I got it right away — maybe this should be filed under “Comics men don’t understand”

  6. This is in the “I have to think too much to get the joke” category.

  9. I used to be a daily newspaper entertainment critic. This is so true it’s not even funny. Oh, wait, it IS funny. But it’s still true – ala Steven Spielberg’s famous “eviscerate it” anecdote about rewriting Peter Benchley’s original script for Jaws. If you don’t get it, just ask yourself why so many really stinko movies get made and then flop. Real people invested real money in them – what happens when a film doesn’t earn back even its own production costs? This is one of the main reasons.

  10. Well, I’m a guy and I got it right away. Give us some credit.

  11. I think what confused me about this strip is the lack of context. What kind of script? Movie script? TV series? Commercial? Play? And who’s Richard, and why is he re-writing the script, and what relationship is he to the woman?

Such context isn’t vital, but the strip looks incomplete without at least some of it.

  12. Yeah she’s probably complaining about the script because it was rewritten to suit a man’s idea of what the movie should be like.
