  5. When I read this, I took it to mean that the ownership switches depending on the situation. Kind of like the whole “Oh, sure, when he’s good he’s your kid, but when he’s bad he’s my kid” thing. When the hedge looks nice it belongs to the neighbor, but when people start complaining about how it looks, the ownership switches over to Dagwood. As for who trimmed it in the first place, probably the neighbor. When he was drunk. That’s my best guess.
