This can only get worse as the week progresses…

  1. It’s completely inconceivable to me to stay in bed that late, even on the weekends.

  2. 7:00 a.m., inconceivably late? I understand you might get up earlier but you really can’t conceive how someone would stay in bed until sunrise? Strange.
As for the comic, sax, sex, hilarious risqué pun.

  3. Could be worse. Could have been sax and violins.

  4. Sax, Violins, and… Tuba?

Can’t have an around the world without the tuba.

  5. Depends where you live, I guess. If the normal start of business in your city is 7:30 (as it is here), sleeping until 7 AM might appear late.

And of course there are people who are up at 5:30 AM no matter what. Sometimes I am, just before I go to bed.

  6. Where do you live that the start of your business day is that early?

I worked at a Starbucks on the West Coast for awhile and did the horrible 4 am opening shift. Most of our early morning customers were people who worked in the financial arena, and needed to be on east coast time, so 5 in the morning was the beginning of the day for them. But for the most part, it was 9-5ers who made up the bulk of our customers (the SBux I worked at was in the financial district of downtown).

  7. Nevermind all that. What’s a giant wig on a wigstand doing coming over their garden fence?

  8. That sun weirded me out too, partly because the lock on the window resembles a little hair-bow, and for a second, I thought it was the enourmous face of the girl child in the strip.

  9. The sad subtext here is that Adam’s marriage has reached the point that he’s waking up to muzak instead of a morning quickie. “Sax” has replaced “sex” in his morning routine. (Note that his wife is seemingly comatose here.) Essentially, it’s a comment on the death of sexual desire in a marriage, wrapped up in a cutesy pun. Enjoy!

  10. For those concerned about the time, the whole point of this strip is that Adam is a freelancer who works at home, so 7 am is plenty early enough, even if he had to be on the computer by 7:30. Which is unlikely.

What I want to know is which radio station has an all sax all the time program? Not even Sirius has that.
