Days of Heaven Part 1

Filed under: Bill Bickel, CIDU, comic strips, comics, Heaven, humor, Loose Parts — Cidu Bill @ 12:02 am

I had this comic queued up (to be followed by two other Heaven-themed comics) since the middle of September. Odd that they’ll be running while (apparently) at least two comic strip characters will be going off to their Final Rewards

  1. What does one do with an intern?
Give them something to keep them busy, like make copies of meaningless documents.
It’s a weak joke, and obscure to boot.

  2. Ah, yes, Pete’s comment cleared it up for me. God created copy machines to give his intern something to do.

  3. I thought that, going to be God’s intern, Tad requested the creation of copy machines as his heavenly reward. I mean, can you imagine how much typing in triplicate God’s paperwork would entail??

  4. I think the cartoonist is making a rather risky joke that copy machines are so hard to figure out that even God needs help with them.

On another note, did anybody notice how much of a Far Side clone this comic is? If I remember correctly, that is exactly how Gary Larson depicted God in his comics.

  5. True dat, bATL. Even Tad there is very Larsonesque.

  6. I was thinking the other way – God created the copy machine so he wouldn’t have to accept this new intern. (There’s a far side clone convention which says buzz cut + glasses + tie = hopeless nerd.)
