So It Goes

I guess no guessing game this year after all — though hopefully Jef Mallet has a surprise for us by the end of the week.

  1. I’m surprised Ms. Olson actually got the reference. Right off the bat, at that.

  2. Me too. Maybe there are inner depths to the woman that we can scarcely suspect.

  3. I don’t normally read Frazz b/c our papers don’t carry it, but I’m guessing the “guessing game” was rushed through since Halloween is midweek (today) and wanted to resolve it on actual Halloween.

  4. well – compared to last year this was a no brainer

  5. Maybe the this year’s mystery is what Frazz dressed up as.

  6. Why is there a cinnamon roll on the farmer guy’s head?

Mrs. Olsen passed out at the Cinn-a-bon store again. When will she realize how dangerous her addiction is??? -Bill

  7. Two clicks and all my daily comics show up on different tabs in Firefox. (I suppose I could do it now in IE7.)

    Frazz is free at
and is the first one up (thanks, CIDU, for my favorite strip. and for Pearls Before Swine, which is a joy I would have rejected on first reading.).

I have to pay a few pennies every year but it’s worth it for Zits and Baby Blues (and now Mutts and Funky W. thanks to CIDU).

24 tabs plus DailyInk with 9 strips. No more piling up newspapers when I get behind.

  8. What was the costume last year? (or, does anyone have links to last year’s strips?)

Does anyone have an idea what Frazz himself is going as?

  9. Last year, Caulfield was the big Indian guy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next

  10. My guess on Frazz is a near-sighted ref.

  11. Just a thought — is it possible that CIDU readers are especially well read and that is why we caught onto Tralfamdorian reference right away. While the rest of the English speaking world was left scratching their heads ?

  12. True, Nicole — but that would mean the whole week’s story is wasted on everybody else, and that’s not good policy.

The best mysteries are the ones that seem perfectly simple ONCE THEY’RE EXPLAINED.

  13. Bill — I didn’t start reading Frazz till last year sometime, so the only other Halloween costume puzzle I have encountered was last year’s. If it wasn’t for the movie version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, I think the story from last year would be equally lost on most people.

Lets face it — most people simply don’t read.
