Christmas Card Question (WAY OT)

Filed under: Bill Bickel, Christmas cards — Cidu Bill @ 12:51 am
  • What’s the earliest it’s acceptable to mail out Christmas cards? I signed mine the same time I signed my Chanukah cards and I just know I’m going to lose the damn things if they sit around on my desk for too long. So I guess what I’m essentially looking for is permission from some Christians to mail them out right now.

  1. oh hell yes. It’s December, fair game.

  2. They’re actually supposed to arrive before Christmas – they form part of the decorations. So go ahead.

  5. It depends on who you want to piss off and by how much. Really want to annoy people send them out Labor Day and they’ll resent you for getting done so quck. They’ll simmer down by Thanksgiving though. As Hans Gruber once said “Ho…Ho…Ho”

  6. It’s “officially” the Christmas season now, so feel free to send them. When do you send out your Agnostics’ Day cards though?

  7. I haven’t decided whether or not to send those.

  8. Before Thanksgiving, and I will say a bad word when I receive it. After Thanksgiving, I’m still pissed off that I didn’t start mine yet (right up until December 27th is usually my pattern!) but I will expect them.

    is Hanukkah early this year?!

  10. Chanukah is not early this year. It starts on the 25th of Kislev, the same as every year.

That’s Wednesday, three days from today.

  11. Go ahead and send them — it’s December. šŸ™‚

  12. Any time after Thanksgiving. It’s nice when they don’t all arrive in a clump the week before Christmas when things are generally more busy and crazy. Plus sending them early gives people who forgot to send you one a chance to save face and get you a card before Christmas!

  13. December is fine. I hope you put more in them than a signature, though. When I get a card, I want the sender to have SAID something.

  14. I got my first one this year the Friday after Thanksgiving. I’m planning on taking my cousin’s wife out back and working her over next time I see her.

    Bloody Martha Stewart…

  15. Consider permission granted…
