I Have Absolutely No Idea What This Means, But I Find It Very Funny Nonetheless

I guess this means some gags are just CIDU-proof.

  1. Well, I know CRK made dinosaur paintings, I’ve seen them for years. I’m sure the gag here is dinosaurs venting and dishing like a prehistoric episode of The View. And it is pretty funny to see those “terrible lizards” with tissues and tea…
Hey, Bill, how can I get an image into my comments like you?

  2. “I Have Absolutely No Idea What This Means, But I Find It Very Funny Nonetheless”

You could say that about 90% of the Far Side comics. Often they involved a juxtaposition that was just funny — much like this cartoon.

  3. I’m with Nicole. I don’t think there’s anything to explain here. It’s just funny because it’s weird and nonsensical.

  4. My take is that in those old paintings there was so little known about how dinosaurs lived that many times leaps to conclusions and guesses were made that were often erroneous. So what would be stopping them from jumping to the guess of dino feelings in addition to their behaviors.

  6. And riffing of #4, CRK painted one of those mistakes — an absolutely gorgeous “brontosaurus,” which is, of course, an apatosaurus with the wrong head.

  7. “IHANIWTM,BIFIVFN” … hmm, not as pithy as CIDU. But I felt the same about (granted, I play the piano for a living).
