The advice being “Frustrate your new husband to the point where he can’t think straight”? I suppose next she’ll be seeking advice from Janis on clever ways to avoid having sex.

  1. Considering the source, I imagine it was something along the lines of “make sure he always has cause to think of you in sexeh ways,” the brain-addling being a natural by-product, of course.

  2. I actually thought it was because she thinks she’s pregnant, which is the current storyline in the comic. She’s debating as to whether or not she should tell her husband that she’s pregnant, and she’s afraid that wearing a really tight dress might reveal something. I could be wrong though.

  3. Bear in mind that Amos and Edda apparently have not done the deed yet themselves. Edda’s advice is indeed likely to involve frustration.

  4. I’d say it’s because (I never keep track of the names in this strip) Edda told “FormerNun” what to tell “FormerPriest” so that “FormerNun” would actually be able to keep this dress that she really wants. If “FormerPriest” thinks keeping it is actually his idea, then there’s no one else to blame when he feels “you know what? it IS too sexy for a party”

  5. I just got done shopping for my wife’s present at Victoria’s Secret, and you have NEVER seen so many men as willing to stand outside the dressing room to give their opinions.

“I dunno honey, maybe you should try the red one on again…”

  6. I think the “joke” is just the continued “women have nothing to offer in a relationship except for their bodies, and men will drool over them” shtick that this strip loves so much.
