  1. What he told her: “Why put all that up? You’re just going to have to take it down again!”

  2. … and leaving the decorations up all year long is NOT a good way to with this argument.

  3. Could it also be the scotch tape marks left on the wall of the archway after taking down the garland?

  4. he probably told her that that garland thing wouldn’t look good anywhere, but she still tried to find a spot for it (on the mantle, doorway).
when she didn’t succeed, he rubbed it in her face.

  5. I was confused by this, but #1 makes perfect sense, and fits in with the Arlo and Janis senseof humor.

  6. Yes, #1 nailed it. Arlo probably refused to help decorate because he could see how pointless it was, too.

  7. #1 all the way – especially when you consider Arlo’s mood this month.

  8. I thought Arlo was saying that he told her it was going to be a lot of work taking down all of those decorations, but Janice seems to do it all with stride. I have to fall in and agree with #1 here.

  9. Ack! I just noticed I made a typo in #2! It was supposed to say:

… and leaving the decorations up all year long is NOT a good way to win this argument.
