  1. I took this as a general complaint about the way so many so-called “Honorable” senators become paid shills the minute they are off the taxpayers’ teat. What Trudeau overlooks, however, is that at least these scoundrels aren’t running for president.

  2. He is calling them a bunch of lobbyists, but he is lobbying amongst them all, trying to gain favor for political means.

At first, I thought it was going to be a pun with the word Senator, since he kept saying it.

  3. No, all those (ex-)senators actually have been or are lobbyists.

Indeed, some have speculated that Trent Lott decided to resign from the Senate so as to beat a new rule/law that would make him wait some years before he could lobby the House or Senate. It’s a sweet money-maker for ex-senators.–lobby/sen.-lott-leaves-but-lobbying-law-may-hurt-staffers-more-2007-11-28.html

  4. I thought this one was hilarious. =) I honestly didn’t realize he was greeting former Senators until he got to D’Amato, but once realized, it set up the punchline beautifully.

  5. Hey Bill,

This doesn’t have anything to do with this Doonesbury, but the comics aren’t showing up as click-able links anymore, making it impossible to read the last panels of a lot of them again.

  6. sm, many of the new comics aren’t clickable anymore because I’m running low on WordPress-supplied space and I have to house a lot of comics on the old CIDU page’s server space (so the click-to-see feature doesn’t work). However, if you right-click your mouse and click “view image,” you’ll be able to see it.

Not much I can do about this — but I’m hoping to move the blog format to the old CIDU server soon, which should solve the problem.
