Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bronx is Burning:
A review of the book that’s the basis of this summer’s ESPN series

F Who?

There was some controversy in May when New York Yankee third-baseman Alex Rodriguez was spotted, during a road trip in Toronto, going to a club with a Las Vegas stripper, and one of the New York tabloids gave this front-page coverage. After all, a ballplayer doing this sort of thing during road trips isn’t shocking news, and there’s always been a sort of “gentleman’s agreement” under which the media considered this the players’ own business.

This past weekend, at Yankee Stadium, Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia — who understandably does not feel that her husband partying with strippers is his own business, showed up at Yankee Stadium wearing a tank-top not entirely appropriate for the ballpark, and once again the New York Post was there (and just for the record, those letters were blurred on the tank top itself — that wasn’t the Post censoring itself, assuming they would have).

So the question is (since Cynthia hasn’t elaborated): Was she sending a message to Alex, the team management, the fans, or the media? Or did she just grab the first shirt she could find before coming to the ballgame with her 2-year-old daughter?
