As many of you know, our Arlo Page (still, for now, at its Cidu Classic address) serves two functions: as a place to park CIDUs not safe for children, work, and the easily offendable, and as a showcase for Arlo Award winners: syndicated comics that somehow slipped past the notice of the syndicates’ censors (and cartoonists have gotten away with some fairly blatant stuff).
These Arlo Award candidates are fairly mild by comparison:

Would it be okay to post “alternate,” raunchier punchlines to the FBOFW strip? I mean, in the spirit of the Arlo page and everything. I’m sure your readers could think of something more risque than “I’d like to be thirty!!!”

Some alternate, relatively clean punchlines for this sequence:
* “…But what that could be, I have no idea!”
* “A Geritol smoothie, shaken not stirred.”
* “Tell me this isn’t a near-death experience!”
* “Keep those @#$% clowns out of my room!”
(That last one will be clear to anyone who’s seen a certain viral video.)
Seriously, do you think Lynn Johnston has a “secret stash” of FBOFW gags she wouldn’t dare submit to her editors? I’m sure Jimmy Johnson does. I’d like to think he has a whole file folder of “not-ready-for-prime-time” episodes of “Arlo & Janis.”
