This was an LOL moment for me. The sheer number of people that ask my similarly-adorned husband, not “DID they hurt,” but “DO they hurt?”… how does one answer that?
“Why yes, they cause me searing pain every second of every day. Isn’t it the same with your earrings, ma’am?”
Actually, previously working in retail, I place far more judgement on parents that get their babies’ ears pierced by a “trained” 16-year-old mall jewelry store employee. At least once per day we would hear the unmistakable shrieking across the hall and wonder how that’s even legal.

I’ve had my eyebrow pierced for about 18 months now. It hurt a lot less than when I got my ears pierced before 7th grade.
But guess which one could and probably would harm my job prospects and make people make snap judgments about me?
ONE! One little curved bar on the upper right side of my face that is hidden by my glasses and/or hair brands me as… I don’t know, some kind of masochist punk teenager?
It didn’t even hurt 30 minutes later!

Thisroad, no one’s asked me if I am in constant pain. If they do, I will be sure to steal that line.
Did anyone wear clip-on earrings as a little kid? Talk about pain…

Ugh, clip-ons! My first (and last) encounter with them was in kindergarten, and I still remember the constant burning in both earlobes whenever I moved my head.
And Kaitlyn, if you ever have the chance to use that line, you MUST post the reaction. =)

What line? “No! Body piercing is cool!”? Cause I think that’ll just make you look like a lunatic.
