Just gotta say…
Is there any context for this gratuitously nasty comment?
And with this strip in its final weeks, shouldn’t Lynn Johnston be, you know, trying?

Is this back on the cousins’ farm? I wasn’t aware April went back, but I agree, she has been a big horse’s @$$, like everyone else in the “Foobiverse” as they call it over at the Curmudgeon site.

Maybe saying “now you’re the part with the ears” just means she’s learned how to listen? But I don’t think so.

Who needs a an excuse to call
your cousin (or whoever) a
horse’s butt in fun?

Wow. I did not know that Johnston was ending the strip. I assume it will end with Anthony and Elizabeth getting married…

I’ve heard something called “the horse’s a$$” to say it sucked. Might be a rather obscure jab at humor.

Word is that the strip is NOT ending, but they’ll stop aging. So Grandpa Jim will stay in stroke mode and April will never get to drive.

Well, the characters will stop aging AND the soap opera/story aspect will end. The strip will be converted into gag-a-day format, and it is rumored that it will mainly focus on Mike’s young family. Lynn WAS going to stop the strip, but someone (The syndicate? Her family?) convinced her to instead simplify the strip so it could be handed over to assistants/her eventual successors…

If we don’t see Grandpa Jim well on the road to discovery — or if not recovering, then dead — by the time the strip “freezes in time,” then we’ll have to conclude that Lynn has, as some people claim, come to hate her characters.
